Responsibility
Caring for communities and for the land where we operate
We are committed to open and transparent engagement with the communities where we operate. We believe in actively listening to community feedback and using it to continuously improve our environmental and social performance.
In close collaboration with regulators and communities, we are working to understand the current state of local environmental and social conditions.
Informed by this work and community input, we will develop a detailed environmental and social management plan that will govern all aspects of construction and operations, is responsive to community needs, and is guided by the goal of protecting and enhancing community health, wellbeing, property, and livelihoods.
Caring for communities
Led by project partners EGA and Century Aluminum, we are committed to maximizing the long-term benefits of our presence.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, and neighbors are our number one priority.
We will deliver programs that create local jobs, support education and skills, strengthen community infrastructure, promote innovation, and drive local economic growth.
Our programs and decisions will evolve over time in response to community needs, and continue to contribute to the local prosperity and overall quality of life.
Caring for the land where we operate
We are committed to responsible stewardship of the land where we operate, protecting air, water, land, and biodiversity, supported by robust monitoring and transparent reporting mechanisms to remain fully compliant with regulatory expectations.
The project will use advanced and proven technologies to reduce environmental impacts, and make operations economically sustainable so they can continue to deliver local benefits.
