Oklahoma Business Owner: Oklahoma Primary Aluminum is a “Once-in-a-generation” opportunity

Ryan Plotkin of Oklahoma City-based U.S. Aluminum recently sat down with the Tulsa World to share perspective on what could be a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Primary Aluminum at the Port of Inola represents more than a single development,  it’s part of a broader opportunity to build a full industrial ecosystem right here at home.

For too long, Oklahoma has exported raw materials while others captured the value. Projects like this point to a path forward,  pairing production with downstream manufacturing to strengthen supply chains and keep investment within the state.

As demand grows across industries like energy, aerospace and defense, initiatives like Oklahoma Primary Aluminum highlight how Oklahoma can create quality jobs, expand domestic production and play a larger role in building a more resilient, secure supply chain.
